Why Mike's running
To restore trust through transparency and reform.
Massachusetts ranks near the bottom nationally when it comes to legislative transparency. The status quo has failed our residents, and my opponent is deeply embedded in that broken system. I believe our Legislature can—and must—do better. I am committed to meaningful reform, openness, accountability, and working alongside allies who share that vision.
To get more local aid for our towns.
As a former town official, I know the financial struggles. Our towns are forced to do more with less for everything, including public safety, schools, and public works. Town budgets are stretched thin and critical infrastructures and equipment are deteriorating, with little hope of being replaced. The state needs to step up, and our towns need an advocate in the State Senate who has lived these struggles and understands the needs.
To fight for families who are falling behind.
A decade ago, Massachusetts already ranked among the worst states for income inequality. Today, that divide has grown even wider. The middle class that so many of us grew up in is disappearing, leaving families struggling with the crushing costs of housing, food, healthcare, and education. These families deserve more than sympathy—they deserve a champion in the State Senate who understands their reality and will work in partnership with others to fight relentlessly on their behalf.
To stand up for our democracy.
State legislatures are on the front lines of protecting our residents from abuses of power by the federal government. Massachusetts must be a strong, vocal bulwark in this fight—defending civil and constitutional rights, safeguarding economic security, and ensuring that fear and extremism never define our future.
Let's not be afraid to be Democrats again.
I became a Democrat because I believe in transparency, accountability, sticking up for working people, and making sure that everyone has a fair shot at housing, education, and jobs.
Together we can and must do better.
